Love the new connections and how it makes our world expand! — Debbie Fecher Gramstad
Thank you, BNB, for creating a space for us to connect. — Karen Dueck Richter

The most thing I like about these groups is before I hated to throw practically good things in a trush, I am glad there are ways for people to enjoy things that otherwise would be wasted, my husband put a fair share of items in the trash, and it always bothered me, but now I find a home for everything, I am not talking about something trashy, but books, baby items, clothes, even my husband socks went to the homeless, when before I would have thought who would want used socks — Natasha Kirkland
May I just say thank you to Rebecca Rockefeller and Liesl Clark for this “project” of theirs. It has warmed my heart and helped me get to know people in my neighborhood. People that I may have met before, and now, people that I know. Maybe they are in music class with me and my daughter, at the park when I am, or have children who attend the same school as mine do. I have connected to neighbors that I may never have had a chance to know because of this group. I look forward to meeting more of my neighbors, and I hope that everyone involved can do the same, because as Rebecca and Liesl have pointed out numerous times, this is about so much more than just the “stuff”. — Lisa Kastner
I support BNP 100%. Wherever I live there will be a BNP because if I move, I’m not living without BNP. I just “happened” to be living on BI when this great, grand, and glorious consciousness landed and put on legs and spread so fast it was impossible to imagine this field of rapid transformation. I never want to be without that ever again and I am grateful to every person I interact with in any BNP group I have the privilege to join or start in the future. — Anahata Little

Thank you, BNB, for all of the help so many of you gave us during my recent illness, from house cleaning to food to driving around at all hours looking for Lily the Wayward Dog. It was really inspiring to see our community respond this way, and I won’t forget it. I’m mostly back on my feet now. I want you to know that I’ll be there for you whenever you need me with whatever I can offer. — Donald Hazeltine
End of another stunning BNB week and the sun’s rays just minutes ago through this glass ‘o wine got me thinking. What truly works about this group and others in the Buy Nothing movement is everyone’s acceptance of the impermanence of our predicaments in life and how one person can make a difference in another’s. But when there’s a community of givers and takers, willing to assume both roles, candidly, the end result is exceptional. — Liesl Clark

I am new to this site but in the short time that I have been getting up the courage to respond on here I have seen some amazing people. Feeling blessed to be a part of this group and am looking forward to getting more involved. — Heather Young Mews

Dear BNNK family – I cannot even begin to tell you how amazing this group has been for my family and I. When I joined this group I figured I’d give here and there and receive here and there, I never fully anticipated the impact it would have on my family and I. The kindness of strangers and how so many of you have gone out of your way to bless our family is astounding to me! As if I did not receive enough last night, I come home to the many blessings you bestowed upon my family. In tears I called my husband and mum to let them know we were going to be okay because there were so many in our community taking care of us. I cannot even begin to communicate my gratitude to all of you. May God bless you as much as you have blessed my family. — Shanna D.L. Wilson
Just felt like sharing how grateful I am for this group. We are a military family so we move all over every 3-4 years. When we have to choose a place to live it is a hard choice and many factors play in to it. When trying to decide exactly what would be the right fit we heard great things about BI but also heard those comments that included references like “uppety, superiority, snotty, unfriendly, unwelcoming”, etc. I want to say that we have been here one year since June and we have yet to meet those people so they must be hiding or better, don’t exist. This BNB project is proof of the generous, gracious and giving spirit that exists here. It is a blessing to witness it, to be a part of it and to watch it grow. Thank you for the offerings that have been given to our family, and for giving us the chance to share with yours. This is a beautiful community and we are glad this is where we decided to call home for a couple of years. — Amy Lee
Just wanted to know if there’s a BNP in the 12420 area in new york? Cragsmoor, Ellenville, New Paltz
Hi 🙂 did you find your hyper-local Buy Nothing community group ? Please have a look at the list, and copy/paste the link for your neighborhood into your browser, which will then give you an option to ‘request to join’ https://bnponfb.wpcomstaging.com/find-a-group/#NY We are adding new groups every day, so if you community does not currently have a group, check in again, someone might have volunteered to start one up. Thanks for your interest in our social experiment!
